This years Super Bowl

I am going to start off with I called Green Bay going to the SB back in week 3 in case you missed it click here after watching their game. I know Pitt is going to be tough but I think by 3rd quarter it will be over. Aaron Rodgers is one of the best up and coming QB's in the league. It is amazing they made it with all the injuries they have had on both sides of the ball. Clay Mathews scares me dude is awesome this is his second year and he has been to the Pro bowl twice deservedly so too. I think he should of been DPOY not Palamalu! Rodgers reminds me of Brady only more mobile. He has a boat load of weapons in Jennings, Driver, Donald Lee, Starks, Kuhn that is on offense not to mention their defense of Mattews, Woodson, Raji, and Hawk. Ben is a over rated QB that doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same category as Brady. Ward is over the hill the only real threat they have is Wallace and Miller sure they have a decent one two punch at RB but your not going to get far with GB defense.

Defense Wins Championships

Of the top 10 offensive teams in the NFL this season, only one, Green Bay, reached the title round. But all of the final four teams were in the top 10 for defense. Of the top 10 rushing-offense teams this season, only one reached the title round. But of the top rushing defenses, Nos. 1, 2 and 3 -- the Steelers, Bears and Jets -- made the final four.

Defense wins championships.

Of the top 10 passing-offense teams this season, only one, Green Bay, made the title round. Of the top 10 passing defenses, two did, the Jets and Packers. Defense has prevailed over offense emphatically, with defenses No. 2 (Pittsburgh) and No. 5 (Green Bay) reaching the Super Bowl, while offense No. 9 (Green Bay) is the highest represented.

In recent super bowls, defense has led the way. In 2008, the Giants took the trophy by holding the Patriots, who had just set the NFL record for regular-season scoring, to 14 points in the Super Bowl. In 2009, the Steelers won the Super Bowl by controlling Kurt Warner and the Arizona offense. Last year, the Saints won the Super Bowl by holding back the Indianapolis offense while chipping in a defensive touchdown themselves.
With both teams being built around defense, the trophy might go to whichever's offense steps up when needed most.

Im picking Aaron Rogers and Green Bay to send the Steelers packing.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!

I heard from a buddy of mine that one of the analyst predicted that all road teams would win.  Who would of thought he would be almost right?  None of my predictions came true so I hope I didn't jinx the Pats with my Super Bowl prediction.  Although I did say if GB contained Vick and Jackson they would win.  I also said if Cassel played like crap they would lose.  So not a total bust.  Seriously who saw Seattle beating NO? Answer NO ONE!  The Jets Indie game I could see going either way but not like it did.  Peyton screwed up by leaving to much time on the clock.  Never mind they called a defensive time out to keep time on the clock to get the ball back which back fired if they didn't call that time out the play to Edwards wouldn't of happened then Folk
would of had to kick like a 50 yard field goal too.  He is so inconsistent that I would of taken my chance there.  KC's defense played pretty good till the end because they were gassed but Cassel wasn't on his game at all the offense looked like they were playing to lose.  GB contained Vick and Jackson pretty well and Rodgers looked good.  Love the commentary saying Vick threw 21 td's this season but only 1 went to Avant that is because he dropped like 5 in the end zone. Avant has speed but can't catch worth crap he dropped a 3rd down pass that would of kept a drive going in the 3rd quarter.  For every "highlight" catch he makes I will show you 3 he
should of caught.  How big was Akers missing 2 field goal that is 6 points right there.

WIld card weekend

I can't wait to see some of these games this weekend.  Here is my take and who should win.

New York Jets
Indianapolis

Indie should win this one straight up and by at least a TD if Indie's defense shows up Sanchez is going to be hurting.  Side note I read a GREAT story about Sanchez. Sanchez mourns the death of young fan.  I am not a fan of his or the Jets as everyone knows but this at least shows the character of the player.  I wish more professional players would do this maybe they do and we just don't hear about it.

Baltimore
Kansas City

This is a tough one.  If Baltimore defense shows up Cassel is going to have to be on his game which the last few games he hasn't.  If they don't show up he is going to tear them apart.  This is going to go one of two ways total blow out or tight ass game.  I don't think it will be a high scoring game seeing KC has a decent defense too. I say KC by 3 both teams in the 20's like 24-21 range.  I would actually be shocked if Flaco put up the numbers for them to get more then 20 points but is the playoffs and he has been there before (only because of his defense). To me Flaco is over rated they got him a great wide out Boldin and he hasn't been able to much with him.  Lewis is going to be in face the entire game.

New Orleans
Seattle

This is the one that is easy for me NO there is no way a Pete Carrol coached team will get pass NO. Enough said.

Green Bay
Philadelphia

This is the toughest one for me.  As banged up as GB is they are still looking good on both sides of the ball.  If they can contain Vick and Jackson GB will win hands down.  If they can't it is going to be a shoot out and I think Vick will come out on top.  With each round Vick gets Philly to his payday gets bigger.  If it is one and done he won't get the big payday and get the good ole franchise tag slapped on him.  Phillies defense is not that good to begin with and injury depleted and Rodgers could tear them up this could turn out to be a record setting game for points.  My only concern is Rodgers and his concussion history one more hit and he could be done for good.  My hope is Philly by 3.

My prediction for the Super Bowl

Pats and Atlanta

My take on the coaching carosole in the NFL

I know this subject has been beat to death but I need to add my 2 cents on this.  I agree with most of the firings but there is one I don't agree with and that is Oakland firing Coach Cable.  He turned the Raiders around and got to 8-8 for the first time since like 2002.  Having 6 coaches in like 8 years is no way to run a team and Al Davis has lost his mind.  Who ever ends up in Oakland will not be interested in full control and will most likely be a first time coach and relatively unknown.  Where to go after that is a good question we have McDaniels, Phillips, Mangenius, Fox, Singletary and Childress to go with possible Fisher and Soprano.  Now lets add the rumor of Cower and Gruden coming out of the broadcast booth it will get real interesting real fast.  The only issue with them is they will want total control which I don't see happening with any of the openings out there except maybe and I stress maybe Miami.  Carolina might be willing to hand over control but I don't see them wanting to pay either of them.  As far as Fisher is concerned I doubt he is going anywhere if he gets canned it would be bad for the Titian's.  Most of their problems are centered around Young who they will not be bringing back and injuries.  I can see a change in OC and DC coming for the Titian's.  Their defense showed some good signs at times but at others was down right awful. Soprano is in danger just due to the fact that Harbough is available and owner Ross is said to be pushing hard for a big name.  The big question is just how much control will Ross turn over to a new head coach which makes it hard for Cower or Gruden to go there.  Now for a twist the 49ers are pushing for Harbough as well but I think they will come up short.  Depending on where Harbough lands will depend on who comes out of the broadcast booth and where they will land.  The Cowboys and Vikings took the intrem tag off there coaches which I think is a great move for both teams.  Phillips was hired by the Texans to be their DC which I think is a good move on the Texans part.  Both the Giant's Perry Fewell and Atlanta's Mike Mularkey interview for Cleveland's opening. Mularkey canceled a interview with the Broncos because Cleveland asked first according to reports.  McDaniels is said to be not interested in the 49ers opening but I could see him going to the Raiders which I don't think would be a smart move on his part.  I feel bad for who ever takes over the Raiders job.  I could see either Gruden or Cower taken over in Cleveland they should seriously think about Cower he has a solid following and could bring back fans who have lost faith in the Browns.  Rumor has it that Carolina is looking for a young coach to rebuild and they don't want to spend a whole lot of money to do it.  I could see Gruden going to Denver or the 49ers more likely Denver.  I think the 49ers will go with a relatively unknown and rebuild.

Our fantasy football year in review

First off just wanted to do some bragging. We won our fantasy football Super Bowl and I finished second in my other one. Thank god for Vick, Bowe and Jennings. We took the most points by 8. We averaged 100 points a game and won the SB with less then 80 points. Now for my team. It went in the tank at the worst possible time I was over 100 points every week from week 9. I only scored 55 points with only leaving 22 points on the bench. I lost to the 6th seed who got 102 points. Who only had maybe 2 100 point games all season. I had the second most points in the league with over 1300 had only 4 games with less then 100 points and lost only 3 games going into the SB.

One of the stupidest thing I have ever heard!

I know it has been awhile since anyone has posted but it is that time of year that makes it difficult to do somethings.  I heard a comment on Monday Night Football that the Giants kicker Matt Dodge's job is safe for now despite being told not to kick to DeSean Jackson.  Really?!?!?!?!  Ok I get it that he kicked to him (Desean Jackson) and he lite them up.  But still the Giants couldn't get ball back into Eli's hands!  The Giants gave up 21 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to tie it.  Is this really the kickers fault?!?!?!?!!!!!! NO it is the REST of the teams fault for allowing 21 unanswered points in the first place.  Don't get me wrong it was very stupid to kick to him but the kid is a rookie and will make mistakes to blame him for the lose is ludicrous! I would start the blame with the HEAD COACH then DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS COORDINATOR then the DEFENSE then SPECIAL TEAMS!  He muffed the punt and you still allowed him to get there?!?!?!?! REALLY?!?!?!?! Here is a link to it in case you have been living in a cave and haven't seen it:

Also I love this spoof of an exchange between Coughlin and Dodge (warning foul language)
